GoTransit - Redesign
Project Summary
GoTransit, part of the Transport product group, is an app that helps users book public transport tickets tailored to their journey, ensuring the best route to their destination.
The project was part of a redesign that enhanced the overall customer experience.
Problem Statement and Goal
Users encountered difficulties when trying to explore and find information about their desired station, line, or mode of public transport using GoTransit. The app’s navigation and search functionalities were not intuitive, making it challenging for users to quickly access relevant details and plan their journeys effectively. As a result, users experienced frustration and delays in locating the necessary information to make informed travel decisions.

Our goal is to increase Weekly Active Users (WAUs) for GoTransit by creating a frictionless experience for power users, making it effortless to find information about their desired station, line, or mode of public transport.
Solution
The final outcome is showcased in the video. Beyond the redesign of UI elements and static design, motion played a crucial role in simplifying the user experience and defining the app’s orientation.

For instance, the search screen is consistently positioned one step to the right, while the station information screen dynamically rearranges within the same view. Users can always return to the home screen by navigating backward.
These motion design choices not only help users easily understand their current location within the app but also establish a cohesive animation language that enhances overall usability and navigation.
